K. Alison Albury is a born Bahamian, having lived and worked in Nassau most of her life. Educated in the United States, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and returned to Nassau where she worked with several prestigious corporations during her career. Later, along with her husband, Peter, she left Nassau to take a different path—a path that few people would choose. Gone was the security of regulated, everyday life and the comforts therein. Existance became subject to a set of random events for which there could be no legislation.
She brings her organization and precision to the pages of her debut work, a factual tale about life on a small island in the Central Bahamas where she and Peter spent a sabbatical of five years from the corporate world. After a career working to make sure nothing could go wrong, Life On a Rock developed as a compelling account of what can happen when you throw your life open to chance and invite the hazards of isolation, aggression and the forces of nature into your world.
Alison lives in Nassau along with Peter and their little Jack Russell Terrier.
